Roberta Farrelly

Roberta Farrelly

Artist Bio: I am a realist and impressionist Fine Artist, self-taught.I started painting at the age of four with help from my father who was a commercial artist and illustrator.  I started painting landscapes in 1975 under the guidance of Jim Macintyre who painted for the wildlife magazine Alberta.

Through the years I have had many Seminars, Lectures and Workshops under Robert Bateman, who inspired me. I have taught in schools in Leduc Alberta, given workshops at Red Deer College, and the Okanagan Trout Creek School.  I am presently teaching fine art to the Passion 4 Art group at the 50+ Centre in Peachland.

As a naturalist, I look for colour, light and dimension, blended to create the essence of my subject. A love for my environment and my interest in wildlife are my inspirations.  Frequent wandering in the fields and glens of Ireland provided me with the raw material for my work. However, it is the process of creating a work, the initial spark of a design idea that is critical and comes from within.

Please note that while pictures show frames, they can be sold without frame.  You can negotiate this with the artist directly.
